The Baron Art Gallery is a showcase of natural history specializing in ancient woods and fossils from the islands in Indonesia. Baron Art Gallery was built in 1999 in Ubung Kaja- West Denpasar, Bali. It is located in the rural area of Ubung surrounded by rice fields.
The gallery is divided into 2 sections, the exhibit room and the workshop area. The gallery is 6,000 sq. feet which is built on a 2,7 acre parcel of land. The collection is a result of the efforts of Rusmin Bintoro who began collecting in the 1990's. The sculptors that work on site are from Java and Bali. They are very talented staffs that have been working for many years doing arts and crafts.
The collections are various, from petrified woods to sculpted old woods, which some of them were found from old kingdoms in Indonesia, some dating back to the early part of the 17th century. The gallery provides “made to order” from our wood collections or customer’s supplies. Most of our customers are from Europe and Asia. They love to see our wide selection of fossils that can be various from low to high end goods. Some of the collections are not for sale since they are nature’s treasure and extremely rare.
